A Word From Our President, Kimia Penton - August 2026

Dear PMI Dallas Chapter Members,
I hope you're all having a wonderful summer and finding opportunities to slow down, recharge, and spend time with the people who matter most.
Thank you to everyone who has joined us over the past month at our virtual dinner meetings, hybrid breakfast meetings, Coffee & Community gatherings, and happy hours. Every event is a reminder that PMI Dallas is so much more than a professional association—it's a community of people who are committed to learning, supporting one another, and growing together. Whether you've attended one event or many, thank you for investing your time and energy into this chapter. It's the people who make our community so special.
I recently completed a refresher training with PMI Global on the M.O.R.E. framework, and it reminded me that project success isn't just about methodology—it's about mindset. The way we show up as leaders, teammates, and problem solvers often has the greatest impact on the outcomes we create.
The M.O.R.E. mindset encourages us to:
- M – Manage Perceptions: Understand what matters most to your stakeholders and focus on delivering value where it matters most.
- O – Own Success: Take ownership of the outcomes you create, the value you deliver, and the consequences of your decisions.
- R – Relentlessly Reassess: Stay curious, challenge assumptions, adapt your direction, and recalibrate as new information emerges.
- E – Expand Perspectives: Look beyond the immediate project and consider the broader impact your work can have on people, organizations, and our communities.
I love that these principles extend well beyond project management. They remind us to lead with intention, remain adaptable, and continuously look for opportunities to create meaningful value. This fall, PMI Global will be launching online courses that explore these concepts in greater depth, and I encourage you to check them out as they're released.
As we head into an exciting fall season, don't forget to register for our North Texas Professional Development Day on September 26! It's one of our biggest events of the year and a fantastic opportunity to hear inspiring keynote speakers, learn from industry experts, connect with fellow professionals, and earn PDUs while investing in yourself.
Finally, be on the lookout next month as nominations open for our chapter leadership elections. If you've ever thought about getting more involved, I'd encourage you to consider taking that next step. If you have a heart for serving others, building community, and helping shape the future of PMI Dallas, we'd love to get to know you. Our chapter is built by volunteers who choose to give back, and that spirit of service is what makes this community thrive.
Thank you for being part of PMI Dallas. I look forward to seeing you at an upcoming event and continuing to grow, connect, and make an impact together.
Warmly,
Kimia Penton
President, PMI Dallas
