Rita Lopez

Rita Lopez has been a PMI Dallas Chapter member for 12 years.  She currently is the Symposium Director within the Professional Development Team. In this role, Rita supports the planning of the event with UTD as well as coordinating, managing and facilitating activities for this yearly event.  She has helped organize and/or been a volunteer for the last 8+ Symposiums!  Rita has a passion for learning, loves education and she is a huge fan of the project management profession.

Rita has been involved with the UT Dallas PMI Symposium because it allows her “to give back, serve and support a great educational cause for professionals, students and our community”.  Rita explains that “leading the symposium allows me to serve, to stay involved within my profession and stay in-tune with the latest project management trends”.

Outside of her volunteer role, Rita is a Director of an IT PMO.  She has over 15 years of experience in project management, including running large scale fast pace strategic projects and programs in retail, medical, financial and information technology.  She currently works for Brown & Brown Insurance in Plano, Texas.

Rita and her husband, Eddie, live in Irving, Texas. They have two daughters and enjoy traveling, spending time with the family, serving in their church and giving back to the community.

    Rita is an awesome project manager! She has kept the Symposium team well organized and running like a machine. She's also quick to jump in and offer solutions in any area, and always does it with a smile. She brightens a room.
