A Word From Our President, July 2020
July 7, 2020
As one of PMI’s largest chapters, we have the honor of serving more than 4,500 members in the North Texas Area with over 145 volunteers committed to serving the project management community.
This month I want to give thanks and recognize volunteers who have demonstrated exemplary servant leadership during this national health crisis. Our team has been diligent and committed to providing quality programs and events to help you stay engaged and grow skills. And we continue to negotiate with various training providers to provide value to our members. The team is working to host virtual meetings, courses, workshops, training, social events, and Toastmasters throughout 2020. This year, each board member will work with our volunteers to think creatively for supporting each of you.
Thank you to Laura Weller, Amna Ahmed, Tina Button, Patt Chowdhury, Ariane Stone, and Dexter Rhodes! Because of the Marketing and Education teams, Chapter members have access to generous discounted Disciplined Agile certification training. I also want to thank Joshua Barnes from Process Mentors in helping to realize our vision of supporting chapter members through an amazing course: Be Disciplined Agile Certified! The regular price of the 2-day DA class ranges from $1,500-$995. PMI Dallas is now able to offer members a generously discounted price of $595! There are only 20 seats. Register Now!
Next, I want to recognize our Applied Project Management team. In the past couple of weeks, Julio Ruiz and his team (Grettel Molina, Ashwin Ayancha, and Gregory Gray Jr.) have worked tirelessly with various organizations to support institutions that will be benefited from Project Management Professional knowledge. Some prime examples:
- Collin Country NAACP Empowerment Program collaboration
- UNT Frisco
- Amber University
- Richland College
- Dallas Empowerment Programs
Last but not least, I would like to recognize each member and our newsletter subscribers. Thank you for supporting us by providing feedback, suggestions, and attending the Chapter’s events.
Thank you for your patience and understanding while we are finding a balance between work, life, and volunteering to serve you as project management professionals. As Chapter President, I assure you that the whole team of volunteers is committed to doing more for our members and our community.
All the best,
President, PMI Dallas
