A Word From Our President - August 2019

August 8, 2019,

Dear Friends and Members,

Hope you've all had a great summer and were able to spend time out of the heat -preferably by a pool or under and umbrellal!  As we shake the water out of our ears and begin slowing down for the flashing school zone lights, remember it's always a good time to stay sharp on our Project Management skills.  Even if we're not all going back to the proverbial "classroom,"  PMI Dallas offers a number of opportunities to earn PDU credits through events, book reviews, and volunteering!  One such event is our popular monthly dinner which resumes on Thursday, August 15th. This month Marv Williams, the founder and CEO of Xerillium a company that develops blockchain enabled devices and software, will present on "How Blockchain Projects are Altering Project Management Methodologies."

As many of you know, this is PMI Dallas' 35th Anniversary, and we're celebrating!  Thank you all for your input.  We've heard from you and will soon be releasing the date and location of our event.  .  Keep checking in; we'll be listing the dates on our website and availability will be on a first come, first serve basis.  You will not want to miss this event!  Family and friends are invited to attend

PMI Dallas has several other opportunities in August.  We'd love to see you come out to engage in lively discussion and meet others in the PM community.  Work in an Agile environment?  Maybe you want to learn more about how User Stories work?  Come join us for "Writing Actionable User Stories" on August 10th at UT Dallas.  We'll also be hosting a Toastmaster's session in Plano on August 17th.  Finally, make it a power lunch and join us at our Lunch and Learns in Dallas and Plano on August 30th!

Please follow our social media sites on FacebookLinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram @pmidallas for the latest Chapter news and the Events Calendar for Chapter activities.

Have a great month and thank you for supporting the Chapter during our 35th Anniversary. I hope to see you at some of our events.
