Meeting Topic: An Agile Introduction for Project Management Professionals
An introduction to agile practices, relating them to more traditional project management practices, and understanding their benefits.
Presentation:
An introduction to agile practices, including topics such as agile principles and values, agile frameworks and their history, focusing on scrum, its ceremonies and artifacts; relating these practices and lexicon that agile practitioners use to more traditional project management terms and practices such as process groups from initiating to closing, terms such as scope creep and WBS, and knowledge areas such as risk and quality management; and understanding their benefits, including increased competitiveness, gains in team productivity, strive towards continuous innovation, and an improved sense of employee satisfaction for those doing the work and delighting clients.
About the Speaker:
Bryan Cancel has worked in software development for over fourteen years. He currently works as an agile expert for Sogeti USA, LLC, where he coaches consultants and client development teams in agile methodologies. Bryan has served as both a software developer and a project management consultant for Fortune 1000 companies. He is a certified Project Management Professional and a Certified Scrum Master.
