Leadership Forums

The PMI Dallas Leadership Forums team facilitates key topics that impact the project management industry from the perspective of its most important project manager: YOU!

In 2013, we presented five forums to the PMI Dallas and Ft. Worth members and guests.  Forums have been a hit with our members, and we are excited to offer these free events again in 2014.

The forums are designed as facilitated group conversations on various project management topics.  Feedback from attendees on what they like about the forums:

"Hearing input from project managers in different organizations and industries. Short, and still managed to cover the topic”

"Presenter's upbeat approach and great facilitation of audience contributions. Also great idea to get people there early, including myself."

"Exchange of ideas from the audience."

"I attended the first two 1/2 hour sessions, they were excellent."

Forum Guidelines:
The Leadership Forums are free-flowing, interactive and FUN!  We focus on a pre-determined topic, and ask participants to note the following guidelines.

  • Forums are exactly 30 minutes. Please allow time to register and be seated promptly at the beginning (normally 6:00 pm).
  • Everyone participates, so please be respectful during your “speaking” time.  We average 25 attendees, so help us give everyone the chance to contribute.
  • The facilitator will manage the conversation – as a participant, please respect other’s ideas and talking space.
  • The forums are facilitated discussions; there are no slides or handouts before or after the session.
  • You may receive .5 PDU for participation.  You can self-report these at www.pmi.org in Category A:  Component Activity (reported similar to dinner meeting events).
  • Please fill out the survey (hard copy) at the end of each forum.  We appreciate your feedback, and will use it to continuously improve the forums.
